Team UniSA Shines in the City-Bay 2019

Alex Traeger

Team UniSA was one of the biggest teams to participate in the City-Bay Fun Run event, held on Sunday, September 15.

Over 330 people represented Team UniSA in the half marathon, 12-kilometre, six-kilometre and three-kilometre events – both running and walking.

Staff and students participated in the event from the Adelaide CBD to Glenelg, including UniSA’s Vice-Chancellor, David Lloyd!

In perfect weather, participants refuelled together at the Team UniSA Post Race Recovery Station.

Congratulations to our fastest male runner in 12km race Max Nelson, and for the second year in a row our female fastest 12km runner was Madga Nenycz-Thiel.

A big thanks to the Rotary Club of Somerton Park for cooking the bacon and eggs, Chobani for the yoghurts and Dean Kyritsis for being our photographer on the day.

A massive shout out to the UniSA Athletics Club, especially Patrick Schultz for holding the team training sessions in the lead up to the event. Thank you also to Bupa and UniSA Health Clinics for their support and services for Team UniSA.

It was a huge team effort and we thank everyone who got involved this year!
