UniSport Nationals 2022 highlights

Over 5000 students from around Australia competed across 26 different sports as a part of UniSport Nationals flagship event in September. UniSA had 7 sports teams competing in Perth, WA – cycling, swimming, table tennis, rowing, judo, taekwondo, and tennis.

UniSA Sport took home a total of 6 medals and 7 team members were on the University's Elite Athlete register.

·        Final medal tally for UniSA – 6 medals!

-        3x gold: Men’s Div 2 Tennis; Rowing - Women’s Lightweight Single Sculls (Celia Cowan), Judo – Senior Men’s over 100kg (Farrukh Kurbonov)

-        1x silver: Judo – Senior Men’s over 100kg (Patrick Collinson)

-        2x bronze: Taekwondo – Adin Hunt and Rowing – Women’s Double (Celia Cowan and Cleo Wilson)

Congratulations to UniSA’s two team captains: Callum Pearce (Cycling) and Khaing Zar Maung (Tennis) who also won the UniSA Spirit Awards.

Between 4-8 September, two students represented Team UniSA at the UniSport Nationals Snow event in Mount Buller – congratulations to Alfie Wenk who won 1x gold and 2x silver medals!
